Farcaster and Base App

Watchfire runs inside the Farcaster app and inside Base App, on Base. It is the same game and the same village as on the web.

In the Farcaster app

• Open Watchfire from a cast or from the mini apps list. You are signed in with your Farcaster account. There is no sign-in screen.
• Founding your village takes one confirmation in your Farcaster wallet.
• After that, stoking, building, raiding, and defending need no confirmations. A gas account held for your Farcaster account signs them, on your phone and on desktop alike.
• If your Farcaster wallet already keeps a village, Watchfire opens that village instead of offering a new one. You may be asked to sign once to link the wallet, and to confirm once to move the village onto a gas account that works on every device.
• Your @handle and picture show on your village, and the leaderboard has a Following view with the villages of people you follow.
• You can also sign in with Farcaster on the web to reach the same village.

In Base App

• Open Watchfire from Base App. Your Base Account is your account: the first time, you sign once. Later visits need nothing.
• Founding your village takes one confirmation. After that, game actions need no confirmations, on any device with the same Base Account.
• Linking a Farcaster account from Settings is optional. It only adds your @handle and picture.

Getting in

Founding follows the launch settings on Base. While Base is invite-only, the app asks for an invite code instead of offering a mint. See Invites.

Starter gas

New players may get their first mint and some starter play covered, once per Farcaster account or wallet. When your gas account runs low, you top it up with one confirmation.

Fire warnings

• Farcaster: after founding, tap Add Watchfire. You get a warning before your fire burns out, and a note when you are raided or a battle ends.
• Base App: pin Watchfire and turn on its notifications in Base App.
• Tapping a fire warning opens Watchfire where one tap stokes.
• If web notifications are also on, each alert arrives once, not twice.
• Chose Not now? The prompt comes back when your fire runs low.

Sharing

Share your village or a raid from the game. In Farcaster it becomes a cast with a card; in Base App it opens the share sheet. Anyone who taps it lands on that village or raid.
